I’m a writer with the satisfactions of a fulfilling vocation and the pleasures of close friends and family. My children are now of college age and I have done my duties (though parents know these never end) by them in getting them thus far. I have a happy time thereby, relishing too the comforts of metropolitan life and access to the arts, which are my great enthusiasm. There’s nothing especially outlandish about my further aims, which are to share life with a likeminded and convivial companion. The world is full of single people, and I wish for only one.
