In Her Own Words

About her

I enjoy being older! Have become more practised at conducting myself the way I'd like to conduct myself. Which is to prioritise peace of mind. If something troubles me, I work to sort it out. Which can lead to some unusual career decisions + divorces (oops, 2) + similar. End result is I'm extremely happy, with boundless energy.
I start the day with meditation and yoga. In lockdown I began working full-time, from home, for an infrastructure project. I have a pivotal role in admin which is Interesting but avoids the stress of being too senior!
I have a lifelong interest in the arts; music (mainly classical, bit of jazz), arty films, opera, ballet, literature, history, psychology, art galleries, museums; in this country and abroad. I paint a bit myself, write the occasional poem.
Also enjoy short, though prefer long, 12 mile - walks in the countryside, here or abroad, if weather OK. I keep fit. I’m 5'2", slim, attractive - well, for my age, let’s not get too carried away. I don’t drink or do any other drugs except one excellent coffee a day.
Still on board? I’m an ex-Cambridge graduate (MA Law) and an ex-City stockbroker. I’ve a strong, kind, lively personality. When I play music I listen properly; don’t do background music. I like a lot of quiet. Read a fair bit - another lockdown project was to re-read the whole of Shakespeare, with notes and some lit. criticism. Nearly finished!
I live in Leeds at the moment, intend to move back to Northumberland, which I Iove, in Spring next year. It’s the most beautiful and interesting county I'm aware of, + sensible, + good train links with London.
Realise this isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. But I’m convinced you're out there somewhere! Best wishes anyway if you’ve read this far.

About her ideal match

I’ve waited until it felt right to look for a partner, and it now does. Monogamous cohabiting is what I have in mind rather than marriage. It would be really good to share - with the right person - someone who is my equal spiritually, intellectually, physically. Suggest phone calls/Zoom initially to see if there's chemistry.
I feel I’m looking for three things;

Companionship - some sort of fit with my interests and habits. (I wouldn’t be comfortable sharing with anyone who drinks etc - I think my cut-off point is about one unit of alcohol a week.)

Bit of help with grandchildren (none yet). I get on very well with my two adult daughters, see them three or four times a year. One's in London, one's in Newcastle-upon-Tyne; I guess there will be grandchildren later/soon. I'd like us both to lend a hand with that - nothing overwhelming.

Meditation to improve the state of the planet; I’m attempting to reverse climate change and pollution. By meditating. Yes, I believe it’s possible to do this. My current "location" working for an infrastructure project means I’m well-placed to make a difference. I'd like you to help me with this.

A departing boyfriend once said to me "J, you're a big person. You need a bigger man than me." Are you?
